The Link Your Own Storage<\/strong> feature offers administrators of Nimble the ability to seamlessly integrate external storage providers like Google Cloud Storage<\/strong>, Amazon S3<\/strong>, or Microsoft Azure Blob Storage<\/strong> with Nimble. This feature simplifies data management by allowing administrators to select their preferred storage option.<\/p>\n

    Access and Scope<\/h2>\n

    Only the Nimble Admin has access to this feature as it is available under the Administration menu. Once the linkage to one of the storage options is completed, the linkage will be available to all users of the Nimble enterprise. Note that only one storage provider can be connected at a time for the enterprise. <\/a>If Nimble storage is connected to Google Cloud Storage, the other two storage options (Amazon S3 and Microsoft Azure Blob Storage) cannot be connected simultaneously.<\/p>\n

    Navigation<\/h2>\n

    <\/a>\u00a0In the left navigation panel, expand the Apps<\/b> menu and select the Organization name<\/b>. Hover over the top breadcrumb, expand the Administration <\/b><module, and click Link Your Own Storage<\/b>.<\/p>\n

    Link to Your Google Cloud Storage<\/h2>\n

    To link your Google Cloud Storage to Nimble, perform the following steps –<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Open the Link Your Own Storage Screen.
      \n\"BYOS\"<\/span>
      \n<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Click the <\/span>CONNECT<\/b> button on the Google Cloud Storage tile. The <\/span>Link Google Cloud Storage<\/b> dialog box appears.

    3. To get the <\/span>project ID<\/b>, go to the <\/span>https:\/\/console.cloud.google.com\/<\/span><\/a> URL to open the Google Cloud Storage Home Console.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. On the top bar, click the <\/span>My First Project<\/b> drop-down list. All your projects will be listed here.<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Copy the project ID of the required project.

    6. To get the <\/span>Connection String<\/b>, in the <\/span>Search<\/b> bar, enter <\/span>Cloud Storage<\/b> and press the <\/span>ENTER<\/b> key.<\/span><\/li>\n
    7. You will see a list of buckets. Select the required bucket.

    8. If a bucket is not created, you can create one by clicking the CREATE button.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    9. To get the <\/span>Service Account email<\/b>, in the Search bar, enter <\/span>IAM and Admin<\/b> and press the <\/span>ENTER<\/b> key.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    10. From the left pane, click <\/span>Service Accounts<\/b>.

    11. Copy the required service account email where you have the desired permissions.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    12. To get the <\/span>Private Key<\/b>, click the service account that you have copied.<\/span><\/li>\n
    13. Click the <\/span>KEYS<\/b> tab.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    14. From the <\/span>ADD KEYS<\/b> drop-down list, select the <\/span>Create new key<\/b> option.

    15. The <\/span>Create private key for<\/b> dialog box appears.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    16. Select the <\/span>JSON<\/b> option and click <\/span>CREATE<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    17. Open the JSON file and copy the private key.

    18. Once you provide all 4 parameters in the Link Google Cloud Storage, your Google Cloud Storage is linked with Nimble and any file attached on a user story will now be saved to your Google Storage account.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Link to Your Amazon S3<\/h2>\n

      To link your Amazon s3 account with Nimble, perform the following steps –\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      1. Open the Link Your Own Storage Screen.

        \n<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Click the <\/span>CONNECT<\/b> button on the amazon S3 tile. The <\/span>Link AWS S3<\/b> dialog box appears.
        \n<\/span>\"AWS\"<\/span><\/li>\n
      3. To get the <\/span>AWS Region<\/b> and<\/span> Bucket name<\/b>, open the Amazon Home Console and navigate to the Buckets listing page.
        \n\"AWS <\/span>
        \n<\/span><\/li>\n
      4. Copy the desired bucket name and its AWS region. For the AWS region, copy only the part after the location as shown in the above screenshot.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
      5. To get the <\/span>AWS Access key<\/b> and the <\/span>AWS Secret key<\/b>:
        \n<\/span><\/p>\n

        1. Click on the <\/span>Services<\/b> icon at the top-left of the screen.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        2. Click <\/span>IAM<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        3. From the left pane, click <\/span>Users<\/b>.
          \n\"User<\/span>
          \n<\/span><\/li>\n
        4. Click the required user name who has the desired access for the AWS Access key.
          \n\"ARN\"<\/span>
          \n<\/span><\/li>\n
        5. Click the <\/span>Create Access Key<\/b> link. If the Access key is already created then we can copy that.

          \n<\/span><\/li>\n
        6. Select the <\/span>Other<\/b> option.<\/span><\/li>\n
        7. Click the <\/span>Next<\/b> button.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
        8. Enter the description for the access key.
          \n\"Create <\/span>
          \n<\/span><\/li>\n
        9. Click the <\/span>Create access key<\/b> button. The Access and the secret keys are generated.<\/span><\/li>\n
        10. Click the <\/span>Copy<\/b> icon to copy the access key and the secret access key.

        11. Once you provide all 4 parameters in the Link AWS S3, your AWS Storage is linked with Nimble and any file attached on a user story will now be saved to your AWS account.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Link to Your Microsoft Azure Blob Storage<\/h2>\n

          To link your Microsoft Azure account with Nimble, perform the following steps –\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          1. Open the Link Your Own Storage Screen.

          2. Click the <\/span>CONNECT<\/b> button on the Microsoft Azure Blob Storage tile. The <\/span>Link Azure Blob Storage Account <\/b>dialog box appears.

            \n<\/span><\/li>\n
          3. To get the <\/span>Container name<\/b>, open the Microsoft Azure Home Console.
            \n\"Azure<\/span>
            \n<\/span><\/li>\n
          4. Under Azure services, click <\/span>Storage accounts<\/b>.<\/span><\/li>\n
          5. On the Storage accounts page, click the desired storage account where you want to save your data.<\/span>
            \n<\/span><\/li>\n
          6. A pane appears. Under the <\/span>Data storage<\/b>, click <\/span>Containers<\/b>.

          7. On the Containers page, copy the container name.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          8. To get the <\/span>Connection String<\/b>, in the pane, under <\/span>Security + networking<\/b>, click <\/span>Shared<\/b> access signature<\/b>.

          9. Click the <\/span>Generate SAS and connection string<\/b> button. The connection string is generated on the Access keys page.

          10. To copy the Connection string, under <\/span>Security + networking<\/b>, click <\/span>Access keys<\/b>.

          11. Copy the desired connection string.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Once you provide all 2 parameters in the Microsoft Azure Blob Storage Account, your Microsoft Azure account is linked with Nimble and any file attached to a user story will now be saved to your Azure account.\u00a0<\/span>
