From here, you can add, modify, or delete tasks, assign resources, and log time against them. Toolbar options vary based on your access level and whether another user is currently editing the plan.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"830\"><strong data-start=\"820\" data-end=\"830\">Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"905\">Inactive team members are prefixed with <strong data-start=\"873\" data-end=\"882\">\u201cZZ~\u201d<\/strong> and listed at the end.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"905\">Inactive activity codes, master lists, and Dynamic Content Keys (DCKs) are prefixed with <strong data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1004\">\u201c~\u201d<\/strong> and also listed at the end.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"905\">You can invite team members at any time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"203\" data-end=\"235\"><a id=\"LiveEditing\"><\/a>Live Editing in Task Plan<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"163\" data-end=\"771\">As soon as you open a Task Plan, you can start making changes\u2014no buttons to click, no locking required. Edits are saved automatically in real time and instantly visible to other users viewing the same plan. You can update tasks in real time. If another user is editing a specific task, it is temporarily locked, and a visual indicator or message will appear. You can also see who else is currently on the Task Plan, as their profile picture is shown at the top of the toolbar. Features like task creation, field updates, indentation, and date adjustments can all be performed seamlessly without interruption.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"773\" data-end=\"1338\">If you&#8217;re working with Linked or Hybrid tasks, you can manually refresh progress using the <strong data-start=\"999\" data-end=\"1023\">Refresh Linked Tasks<\/strong> option under <strong data-start=\"1037\" data-end=\"1053\">More Options<\/strong>. Background auto-refresh also keeps the data current without requiring manual action. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/critical-path-tasks-overview\/\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Milestones<\/h4>\n<p>It enables you to view all the milestone tasks in the task plan. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/baselining-tasks-overview\/#MilestoneTask\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Baselines<\/h4>\n<p>The Baselines view shows the baseline tasks only. Once you select this option, you are asked to select the baseline level that you want to see.<\/p>\n<h4>Manage Baselines<\/h4>\n<p>Saving baseline task information is crucial for tracking and analyzing a project&#8217;s progress, allowing for<a id=\"Hierarchies\"><\/a> meaningful comparison between the initial plan and current status. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/baselining-tasks-overview\/\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Hierarchies<\/h4>\n<p>The Hierarchy view enables you to visualize the structure of tasks in a hierarchical format. Upon selecting this option, you will be prompted to choose the specific hierarchy level that you wish to view. Depending on the hierarchy level selected in the &#8220;All Task&#8221; drop-down menu, the task list will be displayed in the corresponding format. <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/getting-to-know-more-about-tasks-section-features\/#Hierarchies\" rel=\"noopener\">Learn more<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Add Task<\/h4>\n<p>It allows you to add a new task. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/getting-to-know-more-about-tasks-section-features\/#AddTasks\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Delete Task<\/h4>\n<p>It allows you to delete the tasks. Select tasks to delete and remove from the task plan. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/getting-to-know-more-about-tasks-section-features\/#DeleteTasks\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Indent<\/h4>\n<p>Indent a selected task to make it a sub-task of the immediate preceding sibling task. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/getting-to-know-more-about-tasks-section-features\/#IndentandOutdent\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Outdent<\/h4>\n<p>Outdent the selected task to make it the summary task of all the subsequent sibling tasks. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/getting-to-know-more-about-tasks-section-features\/#IndentandOutdent\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Link Task<\/h4>\n<p>Establish a connection between tasks by setting a dependency between the start and finish dates of two tasks. To link tasks, you can select the tasks you want to link and choose <strong>Link Task<\/strong> from the More Options menu.<\/p>\n<h4>Delink Task<\/h4>\n<p>Remove the connection between tasks and remove their dependency. To delink tasks, you can select the tasks you want to link and choose <strong>DeLink Task<\/strong> from the More Options menu.<\/p>\n<h4>Batch Assign<\/h4>\n<p>It let you assign resources or edit specific fields for batches of tasks. Select batches of tasks and assign resources. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/getting-to-know-more-about-tasks-section-features\/#BatchAssign\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Batch Edit<\/h4>\n<p>Batch editing enables you to quickly apply the same changes to many tasks in a task at the same time without having to edit each one individually. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/getting-to-know-more-about-tasks-section-features\/#Batchoption\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Column Settings<\/h4>\n<p>You can set the columns in the Task List view so that the Task Plan view displays the required columns. Drag and drop columns to resequence the columns, set the column width to view maximum columns, and set the hierarchy level. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/column-settings\/\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<br \/>\n<strong>Note<\/strong>: The columns are listed based on the selected scheduling type when creating a task plan.<\/p>\n<h4>Legend<\/h4>\n<p>The legend feature allows you to easily identify the various icon types displayed in the Gantt View.<\/p>\n<h4>Remove Filter<\/h4>\n<p>It removes the filter criteria and the specific view applied to the task plan. To remove all the applied filters and view all workitems, click the\u00a0<strong>More Options<\/strong>\u00a0icon and select the\u00a0<strong>Remove Filter<\/strong>\u00a0option.<a id=\"LastFailureDetails\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Critical Path View<\/h4>\n<p>It shows the critical path having critical tasks in it that can cause delays in the project\u2019s timely completion<b>. <\/b>Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/critical-path-tasks-overview\/\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Gantt View<\/h4>\n<p>You can view the task progress in the Gantt Bar Chart corresponding to the Tasks List View for tasks in the Task Plan form. The Gantt \u00a0Chart can be viewed on a scale of Quarterly, Monthly, or Yearly periods by right-clicking the Taskbar. <b> <\/b>Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/how-to-view-the-gantt-chart\/\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Assignment Panel<\/h4>\n<p>View the selected task\u2019s resource assignment in the Task Assignment Panel. Learn more about it <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/task-plans-overview\/#TaskAssignmentPanel\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Dense View<\/h4>\n<p>This option shrinks the rows and columns of tasks so that more task records can be viewed on the screen.<\/p>\n<h4>Print<\/h4>\n<p>It allows you to print out task details and even email them to other project members or external stakeholders. You can download the task details using the Print action in the PDF, RTF, CSV, and XLS format. Whereas the PDF, CSV and RTF formats provide all the necessary Task details, the XLS format also reflects the Task hierarchy as seen in the application.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-18145\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/TASK_RN.png\" alt=\"Print Task\" width=\"1920\" height=\"985\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/TASK_RN.png 1920w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/TASK_RN-300x154.png 300w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/TASK_RN-1024x525.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/TASK_RN-768x394.png 768w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/TASK_RN-1536x788.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Reopen<\/h4>\n<p>It allows you to reopen a previously closed task, which can be particularly helpful when additional updates or changes are needed or timesheet entry for a closed task.<\/p>\n<h4>Complete Task<\/h4>\n<p>It allows you to mark a task as complete or closed <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by selecting at least one<\/span>, which can help keep track of progress and ensure that tasks are appropriately managed.<\/p>\n<h4 data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">Reposition Tasks<\/h4>\n<p>Managing tasks efficiently involves repositioning them within your task plan. You can drag and drop multiple tasks simultaneously, making task arrangements faster and more intuitive. When you move multiple tasks, any necessary scheduling adjustments are automatically applied, ensuring that summary task dates update to reflect the new positions of subtasks (if applicable).<\/p>\n<p>To reposition tasks, select the tasks you want to move and drag them to the desired position.<\/p>\n<p>However, certain conditions may restrict these repositioning actions, resulting in error messages.
