The application allows maintaining these Master Lists that are activated in the organization and within projects i.e., you can add, change, or remove any values from the Master Lists.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"Navigation\"><\/a>Some Master Lists are inherited into the project. For an explanation of these master lists, see <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/master-lists\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Master Lists at the Organization Level<\/a>\u00a0help topic.<\/p>\n<h2>Navigation<\/h2>\n<p><a id=\"Define\"><\/a>Navigate to the breadcrumb at the top and hover over the Project name, expand the\u00a0<strong>Configure<\/strong>\u00a0module, and select<strong> Master Lists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Defining Master Lists in Project<\/h2>\n<div class=\"prerequisites\">\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Master Lists module should be available for adding and editing Master Lists in the Organization, Projects, Templates, and the roles within them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>To add a Master List, click the\u00a0<strong>Add Master Lists Type<\/strong> icon. Enter the details: Name, Code, Description, and click on Save. You can enter the master list name of up to 1800 characters.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"whs2\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"p\">In the\u00a0<strong>Sort By<\/strong> list, select\u00a0Alphabetically if you want that all Master Lists values should be displayed alphabetically in ascending order when the user has to select the field of an item. Select Index-wise if you want that all Master Lists values to be displayed in the ascending order of the \u00a0Index code on adding the values to the Master Lists.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p\">To allow adding values to the Master Lists in projects, select\u00a0<b>Allow addition of values at the project level<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/ML_Project.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14399\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/ML_Project.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1307\" height=\"616\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the Master List is added, it will be listed in the Master Lists view.<\/p>\n<h3>Managing Master List Values<\/h3>\n<div>\n<h4><b>Adding Values to the Master List<\/b><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Navigate to the <b>Detail<\/b> link of the desired Master List to manage its values.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Add a Value<\/b>:\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\">Use the <b>Add<\/b> option to include new values.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\">Enter the value <b>Name<\/b>, <b>Description<\/b>, and toggle the <b>Active<\/b> status if required.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\">Select an <b>Icon<\/b> to represent the value. Icons help visually identify each value for better clarity and usability. Following are the categories you can choose icons from:\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Alphabets<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Arithmetic Operation<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Charts<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Cloud Storage<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Coding<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Colored<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Coordinate System<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Country Flag<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Currency Colored Icon<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Currency Material Icon<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Greek Letters<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Health Indicators<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Material Icons<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Measurement<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Priority<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Sizes<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Software development<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Softwares<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20245\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Masterlist.jpg\" alt=\"Master List\" width=\"2464\" height=\"1298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Masterlist.jpg 2464w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Masterlist-300x158.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Masterlist-1024x539.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Masterlist-768x405.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Masterlist-1536x809.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Masterlist-2048x1079.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2464px) 100vw, 2464px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><b>Modifying Master List Values<\/b><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Click the <b>Edit<\/b> icon under the <b>Actions<\/b> column for the value you want to modify.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Update the <b>Name<\/b>, <b>Description<\/b>, or <b>Sort by<\/b> as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Active\/Inactive<\/b>: Use the <b>Active<\/b> toggle to mark values as active or inactive.<\/p>\n<p>You can also export\/import values from XLS, XLSM or CSV files or export the existing list for bulk updates.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Icon Usage Across the Application<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Currently, icons added to Master List values are displayed in the following areas for enhanced visibility:<\/p>\n<p><b>Project Level<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Work Hub<\/b>: Provides quick visual cues for the cards on the Work Hub.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Workitem Listing<\/b>: Helps in identifying workitems more efficiently.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Workitem Details Section<\/b>: Displays icons alongside text in dropdown fields for better contextual understanding.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Backlog Refinement:<\/strong> Provides quick visual cues for the cards on all the sections Backlog, Groomed Backlog and Sprint Planning<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Dashboard:<\/strong> Displays icons alongside text in dropdown fields in the chart setting for better contextual understanding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Organizational Level<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Project Listing:<\/strong> Provides quick visual cues for the Projects<\/li>\n<li><strong>User Listing:<\/strong> Provides quick visual cues for the Users in the Organization<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dashboard:<\/strong> Displays icons alongside text in dropdown fields in the chart setting for better contextual understanding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><b>Notes:<\/b><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Values configured at the organization level will flow along with their associated icons to the project level.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Some default Master Lists, such as SLA Type and SLA Goal Unit, cannot be modified, exported, or imported.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">Sort By can be modified only at the level where the Master Lists were created \u2013 i.e. if it was created in the Organization i.e. Administration workspace, it can be modified from Administration only, it cannot be modified in Templates or Projects.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\">The following special characters are supported as Master Lists values: ~ ` ! @ # $ % ^ &amp; * ( ) _ &#8211; + = { [ ] } \\ | ; : &#8216; &#8220;&#8221; &lt; &gt; . ? \/. The comma (,) is not supported as a master list value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>See\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nimblework.com\/knowledge-base\/nimble\/article\/master-lists\/#Defining_Master_Lists_Relationships\" rel=\"noopener\">Defining Master Lists Relationship <\/a>to set relationship between two Master Lists, which enables the selection of values in one Form field, depending on the value selected in another field of a workitem. This also requires fields to be associated in the required Form of the workitem.<\/p>\n<p>The application provides a Dynamic List feature for Master Lists, where you can <span class=\"Hyperlink\">add a Form field<\/span>\u00a0as the parent field drop-down list which will control the child field drop-down list.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"VideoReference\"><\/a>For example, when you add a transaction, you will see the two Form fields, for example, Country and States.
